Have a real-time private conversation

Hi all,

It has been a while since I last wrote on this blog.  Today, I am gonna help you creating a private conversation using TanglerLive. You'll see it's really easy.

Steps:

  1. Go to TanglerLive: http://www.tanglerlive.com
  2. Chose a title for your conversation/chat.
  3. Tick the "Private" box
  4. Click on Start
I told you it was easy!

You can now invite your friends (remember to keep your URL) and contacts to join you without anyone else watching your conversation (unless someone gave the link, so again: just give the link to people you trust!).

And you will be able to have access to all the great features of TanglerLive (including real-time chat, persistent conversations...).

Have a REAL conversation on Twitter - Twitter Chat

This blog post will be dedicated to the new feature TanglerLive just released: the possibility to send your posts from a conversation directly to Twitter.

Have a look at their blog post first to understand better what this is all about: Bring Your Conversations to Twitter

I really think this is the best solution out there in order to have a Twitter Chat. Let me explain you why.

First of all, users of a Twitter chat are not limited anymore with 140 characters. They can write inside TanglerLive as many characters as they want.

Second point: the conversation is archived! No issues anymore with Twitter's (weak) search!

Third point: your Twitter chat is not "messed up" anymore. Everyone is using the same platform to chat, you can see answers in real time.. This is what should be a real CONVERSATION.

Have a look to this new Twitter Chat feature and let me know what you think about it :)

Live discussion

First of all, all my best wishes for 2011! May this year bring you everything you need :)

Either you want to have a live discussion with your friends or strangers, chat during a conference or an live event (sport, TV, music...) you need to find an easy way to chat with people.

In order to have a live discussion on TanglerLive, you just need to register for free and create your discussion. Once it is done, use the tools on the right side of the screen of the conversation to invite your friends or contacts via Facebook, Twitter, Hotmail, Gmail and even by email. The more people you get into your discussion the more your discussion will become live.

Have a look to the following live discussion during the 82nd Academy Awards:

The best thing about this live discussion is that users don't actually need to register as they can participate as guests!

Chat with people

Feeling lonely or maybe just want to find people who share the same passions than you? I don't think there is a better way to solve these "issues" than having a live chat with people.

If you want to chat with people about sports, lifestyle (travels, fashion...), technology... you should definitely go to TanglerLive and browse the different categories (right side). It will be easier for you to find people who share the same interests than you. You should then just take part of one conversation (you don't even have to register at first as you can comment as a guest).

If no conversations you are interested into were created, or you just want to chat with people, just create your own conversation. It is easy, fast and you can be almost sure to find people to talk to!

Embed chat

This first post will enable you to easily embed a chat in your website or blog.

Which service to use to embed chat on your site?

I personally have tried many services to embed a chat in my website. The easiest one and more interactive chat room I found was TanglerLive. Your users can basically join without even registering to this platform (posting as a guest) and you still have the option to ban people really easily when creating a conversation.  They can register and login from the embed directly too, even by using third-party services (Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Yahoo! and OpenID).

The easiest thing is really to embed the chat in your website.

How to embed the chat?

To embed the chat, first you need to go to TanglerLive and create your discussion. Once you click on start, you will have to register to TanglerLive (this takes 30 seconds maximum) and here you go: your first chat is created.

Next step is to embed your chat in your website. To do so, just copy the embed code (on the right side of the conversation) and paste it in the embed code of one of your post or directly into your website.

Now all your users can chat in your conversation and interact by even posting videos, images, links...

Here is an example of an embed chat (it took me 5 seconds to embed it!):
